Responsibilities at
Fort Dearborn

Vito is a senior member of transaction teams and is responsible for developing and maintaining key client relationships throughout the country. His responsibilities include executing all aspects of transactions from initiation to completion.

Vito leads the firm's Consumer Products and Retail group and the Special Situations group.

Advisory Experience

Vito has been advising middle market business owners in acquisition and divestiture transactions since the late 1980s. Vito has participated in more than 30 transaction assignments ranging in value from $3 million to $150 million across a broad range of industries including manufacturing companies, consumer products and food businesses and distribution concerns. As a financial consultant and turnaround advisor to underperforming businesses, Vito has also successfully completed sale assignments in out-of-court and Chapter 11 settings.

As a financial advisor to companies seeking assistance with debt restructuring and growth financings, Vito has developed and implemented operating plans that have resulted in numerous senior debt and sub-debt transactions.

Past Affiliations and Civic Memberships

Prior to joining Fort Dearborn Partners in 1993, Vito worked for the merger and acquisition division of McGladrey & Pullen, a national accounting and consulting firm, where he was responsible for originating and executing acquisition and divestiture transactions as well as providing business valuation advice and litigation support services.

Industry Expertise

Vito leads FDA's Consumer Products and Retail group and the firm's Special Situations group. In addition, he has transaction experience in food distribution, industrial manufacturing, paper processing, plastic injection molding, and consumer product retailing. Vito co-heads the firms Special Situations Group.

Academic Credentials

Vito earned a BS in accounting from DePaul University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Vito is also a Certified Public Accountant. Vito is an active member of the Chicago chapters of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Turnaround Management Association and APICS, the Association for Operations Management.
