Mr. Ciannella has nearly ten years of professional experience in a wide variety of industries. At Fort Dearborn he focuses on executing transactions for clients using his broad base of both transaction-related and accounting experience.

Advisory Experience

Before joining Fort Dearborn, Chris was a Senior Manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP where he advised corporate and private equity investors on financial due diligence reviews for both buy-side and sell-side transactions. Mr. Ciannella has performed over twenty-five due diligence reviews focusing on quality of earnings, customer/product profitability, fixed vs. variable costs, as well as working capital composition and trends.

Past Affiliations and Civic Memberships

Previously, Mr. Ciannella was a Line of Business Controller at Harris Trust & Saving Bank. Chris's main responsibilities were to report and analyze monthly financial statements, develop quarterly forecasts as well as the annual plan. While at Harris Bank, Chris developed an improved monthly reporting package, which enabled senior management to efficiently review monthly and year-to-date results. Chris started his career as a public accountant at KPMG. Mr. Ciannella is also a veteran of the US Navy.

Chris has provided investment banking, consulting and due diligence services to clients in many industries. Industries where he has significant experience include automotive, chemicals, paper & packaging, manufacturing, and financial services.

Academic Credentials

Mr. Ciannella received a BS in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and earned his MBA with concentrations in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA.
