Fort Dearborn Presents a Review of the Private Equity Industry
Chicago, Illinois - April 22, 2010
Fort Dearborn Advisors recently presented a brief review of the history of the private equity industry and the inner workings of leveraged buyout models to a group of senior lenders in the Chicago area. The report concludes that while private equity deal activity declined significantly in 2009 and remained low in early 2010, these firms have a tremendous amount of capital waiting to invest. When financing for transactions returns to the market, Fort Dearborn expects private equity deal activity to pick up significantly.
The presentation also comprises a detailed review of an LBO model on a hypothetical company, including a scenario analysis with varying assumptions.
